The publication is part of a series entitled Social Impact Investment in Germany, which is based on the work of the National Advisory Board (NAB), a cross-sectoral panel of experts coordinated by the Bertelsmann Stiftung, whose purpose is strengthening the market for social impact investment (SII) in Germany. This report aims to fill the information gap of a lack of publicly accessible information about the German SII market, and to inform both German and international actors about the status quo of the German SII market.
The report focuses on the development of the German SII market since 2012 and analyzes various policy options for the German government with regard to prompting its further development. In addition to a quantitative analysis of the market, the report includes a detailed overview of the qualitative developments in the supply of capital (investors), the intermediaries (channelling capital), demand (investees), and the market environment on the German SII market.
