Workplace Matching Gifts

Did you know that your donation may be eligible for a match from your employer? Workplace matching gifts are a form of philanthropy where companies match the donations their employees make to nonprofit organizations. When an employee donates, they can request a matching gift from their employer, who then contributes an equivalent amount to the nonprofit. Typically, companies match donations at a 1 :1 ratio, but some may offer higher matching ratios. If you have requested a matching gift from your employer, please notify the Development Team at [email protected] with the following:

Name of the matching gift company
The date you requested the match
The amount of the GIIN gift to be matched

IRA

Qualified individuals may be able to make tax-free donations to the GIIN directly from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). In these cases, gifts may count toward a qualified charitable distribution and the donor can enjoy tax savings - even if they don't itemize deductions. Individuals who meet age requirements may also use their gift to satisfy their required minimum distribution.
