Symbiotics, together with CGAP, released Microfinance Funds – 10 years of research and practice, which examines the evolution of nearly all of the global microfinance funds worldwide over the past 10 years. In particular, this white paper provides a review and analysis of data from 10 years of CGAP’s and Symbiotics’ Microfinance Investment Vehicles (MIVs) Surveys from 2006 to 2015. Symbiotics and CGAP note that this report is key to understanding MIVs’ role as incubators for foreign investments in emerging microfinance markets, and also contextualizes their future outlook in contributing to a greater degree of financial inclusion in the developing world.
