The Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship published a review of Innovative Finance in Africa. Over the past five years, the Innovative Finance Initiative has worked with social finance experts across the world and partnered with governments, enterprises, and investors to research, incubate and test promising innovative finance models and vehicles across Africa. This review provides a showcase of models and practices that make up the innovative finance ecosystem across Africa. It illustrates the key drivers in the creation of innovative financing strategies and new business models, and provides examples of impact investing into various impact themes such as access to affordable housing, education, health, and clean energy as well.
