In this article, Dennis Price highlights two impact investing templates that aim to standardize the design of impact deals. These templates are designed in an effort to overcome challenges impact investment transactions often face. Price describes The Impact Terms Project, an open source library of deal terms for structuring impact investments, which was supported by leading private foundations and family offices including: the MacArthur Foundation, Heron Foundation, Sorenson Global Impact Investing Center, and the Blue Haven Initiative. Price also mentions the launch of Echoing Green’s new Seed Impact Investing Template Note, or “SeedIIT,” social entrepreneur-friendly financing template designed for debt investments into an early stage social enterprises.
