In this article, which was prepared as part of the World Economic Forum Latin America agenda, Amit Bouri and Rodrigo Tavares explore the role that impact investing can play in preventing Latin Americans from slipping back into poverty. Specifically, Amit and Rodrigo provide an overview of the way the private sector has played a role in tackling the region’s challenges in the past, explore the progress that has been made to date, assess how to bridge the gap with impact investing, examine the challenges that lie ahead, and comment on what is needed for impact investing to reach its potential in the region.
