Stephen Foley and Adam Samson explore how more big players are entering the impact investing space. Specifically, the authors look at how Pope Francis has expressed interest in impact investing, seeing it as a way to use the financial industry as a means to do good/serve the needs of the poor. Foley and Samson discuss the various ways in which big family offices, institutions, and foundations—such as Rockefeller Brothers Fund, The Pritzker Family, Warren Buffet, BlackRock, and MacArthur Foundation—are all involved in the space. In doing so, the duo references data from the GIIN's Annual Impact Investor Survey and quotes GIIN CEO Amit Bouri, a panelist at the Vatican's Impact Investing Conference.
