The GIIN’s IRIS team and Build Healthy Places Network (BHPN) partnered to provide guidance to impact investors who are interested in the link between community development and health outcomes. As part of ongoing efforts to provide more clarity on how to incorporate impact into investment decision making, the GIIN and BHPN held a webinar on June 28, 2017 to discuss the connection between IRIS and Metrics for Healthy Communities (MHC), an online tool that helps users measure the impact of multi-sector projects intended to improve community health and well-being through the built environment. The webinar highlighted ways in which investors can assess and incorporate impact information in the investment management process, as well as the real world experience of the Healthy Neighborhoods Equity Fund.
