Hewson Baltzell is currently President and Chief Operating officer of Helios Exchange, which provides energy retrofit management software (SaaS) to facility managers, energy service professionals and utilities, and provides energy efficiency project origination, insurance and financing services.
Previously, Mr. Baltzell was Executive Director and Head of Product Development of MSCI’s ESG Research Group, the largest company in the field of environmental, social and governance research. MSCI ESG was the successor to Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, where he was President and co-founder, and was comprised of four other ESG research companies that were consolidated into what became the industry leader. Innovest was an internationally recognized investment research and advisory firm specializing in analyzing companies' performance on environmental, social and strategic governance issues.
Prior to Innovest, Mr. Baltzell developed risk management analysis and procedures in the Principal Transactions Group, the real estate merchant bank of Lehman Brothers. At Chase Manhattan, his responsibilities included restructuring and securitizing the bank's multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio and managing and selling a wide variety of commercial real estate properties. Previously, Mr. Baltzell managed debt and equity portfolios for a private, foreign-owned investment company and worked in Mellon Bank's international division. He holds an MBA in Finance from Wharton and a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
